Industry tour - Monday 9:30 - 3:00

Tour the Sims Metal Management scrap yard and TFC Recycling's Chester MRF.    We'll gather at the conference registration desk then board vans to head to TFC Recycling to check out their MRF.   After touring TFC, we'll stop for lunch before going to Sims Metal Management to tour their scrap yard.  $30 fee includes lunch and transportation.  

Sims Metal Management’s scrap metal yard in Richmond, VA provides ferrous, non-ferrous and electronics scrap recycling services. The Richmond yard also recycles bus, railcars and aluminum trailers. Services offered by the yard include industrial, obsolete & demo scrap and trucking & roll-off container services. The yard specializes in customized scrap management & stainless steel operations.

TFC Recycling is very proud of their Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and loves the opportunity to speak with groups and individuals about how recycling makes a difference in their community and for our planet.

We'll take a walking tour of the TFC Recycling MRF, beginning with an overview of who TFC Recycling is, from their simple, humble beginnings to their current state-of-the-art facility. While in the Educational Room, you will get a better understanding of what can and cannot be recycled, then we'll break into groups and take a guided tour through the plant, watching as recyclables are received, sorted and baled.
