Join us for tours of three Green Building properties to learn about their environmental practices that go way beyond recycling! We’ll start with lunch at the Hotel Floyd then drive to the other tour sites (we can coordinate ride sharing from the hotel).
Hotel Floyd is a 40-room boutique hotel built in 2007 and expanded in 2014 using the latest green technologies and sustainable building materials and furnishings. Hotel Floyd is a designated “Virginia Green Lodging” establishment. Learn about their various green features, from state-of-the-art heating & cooling, to eco-friendly paints and fabrics, with each aspect reflecting the hotel’s commitment to thoughtful choices for a sustainable future.

Wall Residences provides residential support to individuals ages five to 90 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They have facilities in ten locations in Virginia. They’re Floyd offices are LEED Gold certified by the United States Green Building Council and we’ll get to see the many features of this unique building that contribute to this designation.
