After much consideration, the conference committee made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Joint Solid Waste and Recycling Conference scheduled for October 28-30. Our conference attendees' health and safety is our top priority, so we have decided to offer the scheduled educational sessions as a webinar series with CEUs available.

VRA and SWANA have converted the education sessions from the conference into separate webinars, scheduled from August through November. There are 13 Zoom webinars scheduled over the next 13 weeks. Register for just a few or pay one flat fee to participate in as many as you would like. Two sessions are free to all participants - Sustainability on September 17, and Safety on October 29, both sessions offer Certifications. All members and non-members are welcome to participate in these sessions without charge. Please register early as we have a limit of 100 registrants for all sessions. Add your name to the wait list if the session is full and we will add you as spots become available. Please be advised paid participants for other sessions will be prioritized for these free sessions over non-paying registrants if needed.  Only paid participants will be allowed to access the paid sessions.

Sponsorship Opportunities

In September we plan to incorporate a sponsorship component to the webinar series that would involve 1 sponsor per webinar (first come, first served). The sponsor’s logo would be prominent in the promotions of the webinar as well as during the event. At the conclusion of the webinar, the sponsor would have an exclusive discussion with the webinar participants. You will also receive the attendee list after the event.

We are also looking for ideas for our sponsors and exhibitors, so let us know of any ideas you have as we navigate this new way of meeting!

Conference Refund Options

We can apply your conference registration towards your registration for the webinar series. (If the webinars are less than the conference registration, a refund will be made for the difference.)

Additionally, VRA members may use their conference registration payment as a credit toward membership renewal, webinars, or future conferences.

Requests for full refunds can be made by emailing manager@vrarecycles.org.

Hotel Reservation

If you have already reserved your hotel room at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront, you can cancel it without penalty by calling the hotel. 757-213-3000
