Lunch and Learn - RDS of Virginia's Enon Plant
Tuesday - February 28, 2023
Please join us for a VRA Lunch and Learn opportunity!
RDS of Virginia’s Enon material recovery facility is primarily a fiber processing plant. Enon received and processed over 9,800 tons of material, and shipped out over 9,900 tons generating $1.2 million in sales. Enon produces eight grades of recycled fiber products. In addition to brown grades such as OCC and DSOCC, and groundwood (newspaper), Enon produces several high grade fiber products such as manifold white ledger, coated book stock, sorted office paper, undeliverable business bulk mail, and plastic window envelopes.
Enon also produces two grades of plastic – low density polyethylene (LDPE) and biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP).
Enon prides itself on providing its customers with unique waste management solutions. A good deal of what Enon receives is one or more steps away from being recyclable. Enon employees complete those critical last steps for their customers.
Attendees will get a brief tutorial on the many grades of fiber and how to identify various grades. Attendees will also learn the processes that Enon completes in order to produce high quality materials.
Cost: $25 VRA members
